How was the weekend for everyone?!
I think I blinked and it passed me by … anyone else? We kept it low key Friday night with a couple errands and then rented The Longest Ride. Ahhh, major tear jerker! I think it was one of the few movies that I actually enjoyed more than the book. Saturday and Sunday all blurred together for me and was a mix of cleaning the house, running more errands, two birthday parties, and a brunch I hosted for our MOPS group. It was all good fun and motivated me to clean my house, but I was wiped by the time Sunday evening rolled around!
Pregnancy Friendly Workout Clothes
I regularly get questions about the workout clothes I’ve been wearing during my pregnancy, so I figured today would be a good day to dive into that little topic. With the exception of a few pieces, I’ve been able to stick with mostly non-maternity workout clothes. The selection is getting fewer and further between as the bump is growing though! Fortunately, a lot of workout clothes can be stretchy and fairly forgiving, so that definitely helps. Below are a handful of some of my favorite pregnancy friendly workout clothes…

You all know my love for Fabletics, and it has only continued throughout my pregnancy. Their Oula Tank in particular is perfect for pregnancy. It’s long, stretchy, and does a great job at accommodating a growing belly. I already have a long torso, so the fact that I’ve been able to wear the Oula Tank well into my third trimester with plenty of coverage says something about their length and stretch.

Another fabulous Fabletics tank for pregnancy is their Norwalk Tank. It already fits loosely, so it grows with your bump and ties at the bottom to help keep the belly covered.
Brick Betty Capris
Brick Betty is a new-to-me brand that I’ve recently fallen in love with and their capris make for an excellent pair of non-maternity capris that are very pregnancy friendly. The waistband is forgiving and doesn’t sink into your hips. It also cuts into a “v-shape” in the front that makes it a perfect fit for a pregnant belly.
For Two Fitness Maternity Tank
This is the one piece of workout clothing that I’ve been wearing that is technically “maternity”. The For Two Fitness Maternity Tanks have easily been one of my favorite pieces of workout clothes to wear throughout this pregnancy. They are incredibly soft, long, and flatter your changing body all the way through pregnancy.
I highly recommend each of these pieces to help you get through a fit pregnancy! They’ve been lifesavers for me, and I like the fact that I get to wear most of them post pregnancy too.
Weekly Workouts & Meals
Just like every Monday around here, let’s take a look at my workouts and meals from last week! It helps me stay accountable and gives you some new ideas. It’s a win-win for us all, so let’s get to it!
Workouts from last week:
- Monday (08/17/15): Taught BODYPUMP® class
- Tuesday (08/18/15): Rest
- Wednesday (08/19/15): Taught RPM® indoor cycling class + demonstrated exercises for Total Body Conditioning class
- Thursday (08/20/15): Taught BODYPUMP® class
- Friday (08/21/15): Taught BODYPUMP® class
- Saturday (08/22/15): Cardio Fix Workout (at-home workout from 21 Day Fix)
- Sunday (08/23/15): Rest
Thoughts on my workouts:
I had a solid mix of strength training and cardio workouts last week, so I’m liking that, but I ideally a yoga or stretching session in the mix would’ve been good. I’m noticing that a solid yoga/stretching session is really beneficial as I get further into pregnancy, so I’d really like to work on fitting that in these next few weeks.
Meals from last week:
- Homemade Chicken Gyros (grilled chicken + plain Greek yogurt mixed with lemon juice, chopped cucumber, dried dill, garlic, salt & pepper all in a pita)
- Crock Pot Lasagna (It’s a hit around here lately – can you tell? )
- Grilled chicken apple sausages, wild rice, & broccoli
I’m realizing I didn’t cook a whole lot last week. We had a few different social gatherings that involved food, and had leftovers a couple nights too. I won’t lie, it was a nice little treat!
I think that’s all I have for today, my friends. I hope you have a great start to your week!
